Cadillac will present its electric SUV Lyriq on August 6

Cadillac will unveil its first electric car, the Lyriq SUV, during a virtual event on August 6. The original car was canceled on April 2 due to a coronavirus epidemic.

GM, the parent company of Cadillac, announced Lyriq at the EV Day event in Warren, Michigan in March last year, which unveiled a new modular electric car platform that offers a wide range of the company’s electric models over the years. Lyriq will be the first luxury electric SUV from Cadillac to be fitted with a sedan, the Celestiq. The early version shown on EV day was shown Screen column from 34 inches, electric doors, long wheel and many high quality materials.

More than a year ago, GM called Cadillac a brand that controlled the electric car’s future. It used to make sense. The luxury brand needed a refined identity, and GM wasn’t going to pin all its hopes on a slow-selling Chevy Bolt.

For years, GM has been perceived as lagging behind its competitors in the luxury EV market. Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar and BMW all introduced high-end electric cars designed to compete with Tesla’s Model S, while GM had Bolt և a little more :

However, the largest automaker in the United States has taken steps since that day, announcing plans to release 20 electric names by 2023. All four brands, Chevy, Cadillac, GMC and Buick, will launch new EVs.

Cadillac Lyriq will be the first vehicle built on the company’s new BEV3 architecture. Next up will be the Hummer EV in both pickup and SUV formats. There will also be an updated Chevy Bolt EV և Bolt electric utility car with longer wheels, a compact Chevy crossover, and two Buick SUVs և Celestiq. All of this is part of a larger GM program to spend $ 20 billion on capital and engineering by 2025.
