Dell’s new USB-C node is also a conference call loudspeaker
With a huge chunk of the world now working remotely, conferences on Zoom or Skype have become a major part of everyday life. So Dell is adapting to a new portable adapter speaker that combines a USB-C hub that adds HDMI or USB-A ports to a conference call style speaker for better audio quality.
With two packages of USB-C cable and a second USB-C port, the Mobile Adapter Phone allows you to connect an electric adapter to a 90W USB-C PD charger, while providing access to two USB-A ports (rated at up to 10 Gbps) և HDMI 2.0 port (4K HDR support with 60Hz refresh rate). There are no SD card blocks or Ethernet ports, however, this is a particularly confusing step considering how much video conferencing relies on a strong internet connection.
Theoretically, you can also use a node to connect the external USB-C monitor to your laptop, although you have no other place to connect your charger.
The speakers have special buttons for volume, answering or ringing the bell, and press yourself, along with dual microphones, which promise 360-degree sound and built-in response.
The biggest problem is the $ 199.99 price tag, which will cost a lot on a USB-C hub (usually in the $ 50- $ 75 range), but given that such USB speakers can cost $ 100 on their own, added convenience The factor may be worth it.
The Dell Mobile Adapter Speaker is now available on the Dell website.
