As Mark Zuckerberg’s meta universe, Facebook has become a DC strategy

At Facebook’s office in Washington, DC, the metaverse is already a full-fledged political push: the company is meeting with think tanks to discuss creating standards and protocols for a future virtual world that will allow Facebook, as some say, to divert the conversation from such pressing but unpleasant issues as the large-scale

antitrust lawsuit filed last year by the Federal Trade Commission. Next week, Facebook Vice President of Global Affairs and Communications Nick Clegg plans to speak at the Atlantic Festival, a festival of ideas in Washington, which is partly funded by the social media giant, entitled “Journey to the Metaverse.”
