Don’t worry, you’re not the first.
A year after I was saved, I received my prayer language from the Holy Spirit. Like any new believer, I was concerned that I was not yet a “true Christian” because the Scriptures say that the Word of God is a sign of the Holy Spirit … and if the Holy Spirit does not dwell in you, you are not. Christian.
If you are like me, you may have asked them to go to the nearest church and pray for you. I did so and, of course, I left, speaking in tongues. Surprisingly, the Holy Spirit was already intervening on my behalf … my sleep! There are times when I suddenly wake up and say what I think is stupid.
There were times when I wanted to pray, my tongue would be so loose, I thought I would lose the words! If you have not yet begun to pray in spirit, that is, in tongues, ask God for it. It’s simple. If it doesn’t happen right away, don’t panic. Usually a series of events will take place and he will take you to someone who can help you.
in the beginning
The first night I prayed alone in tongues was amazing. I read my little prayer and asked the Holy Spirit, “I do not know what I should pray.” My lips began to tremble and the next thing I knew I was praying in spirit.
The weirdest thing about it is that it prays to the Holy Spirit, so your mind can move easily. I was thinking about my family, friends, ex-boyfriend and career. I began to wonder what he was praying for. I also started to wonder if I was just making this.
The devil’s tricks
Praying in the Spirit is very powerful. So, as usual, our old enemy will come and try to stop you from entering the power of God. Do not please his thoughts. He does only what he knows best: lying.
So no, you’re not going to fix it. No, you do not need to know what the Holy Spirit says. No, it is not the false language of the devil. When these thoughts come, bring them into captivity to obedience to Christ. If you cry out to the Holy Spirit to pray for you, the Holy Spirit will pray for you, and no one else.
The Word of God says that we must pray with our minds and souls. I felt great relief when I read this. It means that I should focus my mind on praying consciously … which means that it is not uncommon for my mind to wander.
Because we honor the Holy Spirit of God, I suggest submitting to Him and allowing Him to pray as long as He wants. Try not to interrupt. In fact, it can take anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour or two. The Holy Spirit will always give you the option to stop, because He loves you but considering how important His prayer is, I suggest you not choose to stop.
When you pray, try to pray in the morning or a few hours before bed so that you do not get tired and frustrated.
Side effects to get used to
Prolonged prayer clearly causes physical effects such as jaw and dry mouth. I don’t know about you, but I have a ridiculous feeling in my hand that they are not mine. I literally feel the person of the Holy Spirit in me, so I feel like my body is not mine … you know, it’s not. It belongs to God.
Get used to these side effects, because with a little effort, the Holy Spirit can release God’s power, grace, love, and blessing into your life.
Jesus: Shepherd, Lord, King 🙂
