Gov. Ned Lamont is expected to visit a new tech-focused career school in Stamford today as it celebrates its grand opening.

Gov. Lamont plans to stop by Stamford’s newest school, Synchrony Academy.

The academy will benefit high school students and others looking to re-enter the work force or enter the workforce for the very first time with a focus on the tech industry.

Students will learn technology skills and proper training for job opportunities.

Starting next year, 25 students will be part of the 8-month after-school training program where they can learn about tech focused career advice and mentorship.

Another 25 students will be a part of a summer immersion program.

The program will focus on groups from underrepresented backgrounds and will be finding kids from Stamford High School, Westhill High School, and the academy or information technology and engineering.
