Ruth Usoro kicked off the trio of first place outings for Tech over in the long jump. Every fifth attempt of 6.59m (21-7.50) (5.2w) stood as the top mark for the victory. In the process, the leap moved to No. 2 all-time in wind-aided leaps. Heading into the men’s portion of the event, Chris Welch came out on top with a mark of 7.67m (25-2) (8.3w) – third jump. Meanwhile, his second leap of 7.48m (24-6.50) (1.1w) turned into a new personal best.

In the women’s 200 dash, Rosemary Chukwuma placed first overall with a time of 22.97 (2.1w). It was her first 200 outdoor race as Red Raider. Courtney Lindsey on the other hand finished second overall but first out of the collegiate sprinters. He clocked in at 20.94 (0.5w).

Other notable outings included Logan Fraley placing second in the pole vault as he topped out at 5.01m (16-5.25). Over in the men’s discus, Gabe Oladipo placed third at 56.73m (186-1) as Seasons Usual (55.81m, 175-6) and Malin Smith (52.86m, 173-5) finished third and fifth, respectively. In the men’s hammer throw, Konner Wood led the way placing sixth with a new personal best mark of 54.74m (179-7).

The distance events capped off the evening in Waco. Sydney White (4:55.40) and Paul Sherrill 4:01.91 paced Tech in the 1500. In the women’s 5000, Binta Ka led the way coming in eighth (18:57.38).
