The first photo of the Apple Watch rival from Meta / Facebook has leaked

There are photos of what looks like Meta’s smartwatch, which shows a front camera and a rounded screen.

According to Bloomberg, the image of the device shows a watch with a larger display, which makes it look more like an Apple Watch than fitness trackers such as Google Fitbit and Garmin. The front camera is located at the bottom of the clock display, and the control button is on the right.

The image, according to a Bloomberg report, was found in an app called Facebook View, which manages smart glasses that were created in collaboration with Ray-Ban and Meta (formerly known as Facebook). Developer Steve Moser discovered the image and shared it with Bloomberg.

The front camera distinguishes this potential Meta smartwatch from other competitors and suggests that it will be used for photography or video conferencing. Given yesterday’s announcement of Facebook’s rebranding of Meta and its commitment to Metaverse, it certainly makes sense for the watch to have such features.

Apple Watch Series 7

Bloomberg sources say that Meta plans to release its first smartwatch in 2022, but a decision has not yet been made. It is reported that three generations of smart watches are being developed for release at different times.

In other Facebook / Meta news, the next Oculus VR headset is under development and is now known as Project Cambria. And in the future, Oculus headsets will not need a personal Facebook account. Meanwhile, the new Apple Watch Series 7 is available for pre-order.
